Still waiting for Adam and Brock to decide if there's going to be any future with chat gone.

Trust me its not being ignored. I've spoke to Brock and for now the sale of YTK has stopped. Since chat is dead with exception to Yahoo! Japan. YTK may become just a tool for pager mode and voice conferences. Which would require the removal of all chat related features. Also the removal of features that no longer work like Gawd Mode.

If Yahoo! continues to develop messenger. Keep in mind Yahoo! Messenger 12 Beta is long over due. Which may indicate Yahoo's intent to discontinue messenger as well. Which would end all need for YTK.

From what I read Microsoft is planning to end development of its messenger and focus on Skype. Which is why you can log a Microsoft account into Skype. Also Yahoo! discontinued interoperability between messenger and Windows Live Messenger formerly MSN Messenger for this very reason. Another indication Yahoo! may cease development of it's messenger.

Time will tell.

From what I am seeing Yahoo want to integrate pretty much everything in its Mail services. A bloated Mail with many features.

They even plan to get rid of their phone in and out service. Seems like they're slowly discontinuing features one by one.

yahtalk by shinkaiho? i'm not excited with it. Be realistic, you can't experience yahoo chat what you had exprienced before because yahoo rooms are dead foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Few people might know about yahtalk to those who aware of yahoo programs, tools etc. i think yahtalk is for conference chat, which is yahoo messenger has eversince.

I can't speak for Brock and Adam. But I doubt anything like YahTalk will be developed by Brock and Adam. Not saying that they couldn't. But personally I see no point.

However YTK maybe updated to support what Yahoo! Messenger currently offers.
