Webcam Scanning
« on: July 19, 2012, 01:53:40 pm »
Recently the "fake" webcam scanner stopped working. I checked the control panel's scanning tab and the "webcam presence scanning" box is still checked.

So I was wondering if this might have anything to do with the webcam servers being messed up.

Try this:

If that doesn't fix it let me know.

Just tried it myself and it works;

The whole Problems is that yes YTK is (90% capatiable but the other 10% isn't ya'll could fix this with a update on YTK but you haven't and its been many months over due but I would like to have 100% YTK working instead of 90% or what ever % you say it is that would solve all the little problems but it is what it is sometimes everybody likes to tell you all what is wrong with YTK that is what we are here to do to let you all know what is not working and when we do this for you you all just tell us it will be fixed on the next update but that hasn't happen in many months and do remember Adam saying it would be out soon but that has been so far back that its been fogotten about so what are we users here for 1. to report back to you all about YTK and what is not working and we do that but nothing here in a long has been fixed yes it's 90% but wouldn't it be nice if we had 100% working We YTK users do are job by reporting back to YTK on what is not working in return we should get back 100% YTK working for doing are JOB..Thanks for listening to what I have to say I am not mad but just want you to know how I feel about this matter you all have a great day....

It maybe your anti-virus preventing the file from being downloaded.

Assuming you're still on Windows XP here's what you can do;
Close YTK Enhanced
Click Start
Click Run and type regedit and click OK.
Locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\YTKE double click it. Look for Cam Scan Server on the right side.
Right click Cam Scan Server and click Modify. Next delete the current value data. Copy and paste this wc1.msg.vip.bf1.yahoo.com into value data.
Click OK and close the registry editor.

Next open up YTK Enhanced and check that wc1.msg.vip.bf1.yahoo.com is the primary webcam lookup server. Also set the secondary webcam lookup server to wc1.msg.vip.sp2.yahoo.com

After that all should work normally.

I've been in contact with Adam and Brock. Both are aware of the changes by Yahoo! and broken features in YTK Enhanced. I will pass this thread along to them. Sorry I can't do more.

Glad it worked.

That file you extracted isn't necessary to keep. It is just a set of instructions that change the registry settings for the cam scan server in YTK Enhanced.
