Ubuntu is a good Linux Distro to start with
« on: October 23, 2011, 09:46:37 pm »
If anyone wants to give Linux a try I highly recommend Ubuntu, you can run it directly off of a disk or you can use the installer to install it directly on your hardrive.

Its very easy to setup and run and is updated constantly.

You can also set it up so you can have a choice of booting up in Windows or Linux.

I disliked Ubuntu for awhile due to some changes they made however I've tried 11.10 and I actually quite like it. I've got it dual booted with Windows now so I'll be using it along with Windows from now on. :)

I don't know why people dislike Fedora.  The Fedora Project is a Linux kernel based OS for home users that is sponsored by Red Hat.  Red Hat employees code alongside the Fedora community, and many innovations within the Fedora OS make their way into new releases of Red Hat.  Personally, my preference for an MS OS alternative is Fedora.
